Kʰunamokwst Skatepark (Alberta Skate Spot ) located at 5200 NE Alberta St, Portland, OR 97218 is an interesting park. Built by Evergreen Skateparks in 2015. it’s a little park at 2000 sq. ft. with some very interesting lines. Its basically kind of a flow bowl that ranges in depth from about 5ft to as small as 1ft transitions mostly coped in standard coping with some concrete lips at some of the taller transitions. The first time I hit this park up I was not a fan as I couldn’t really figure it out as each transition kicks you out to the next one in a strange way but after hitting it again this park can be pretty fun if you just flow from obstacle to obstacle; you end up carving frontside to backside to grinds and flowing throughout the entire 2000 sq. ft. Since Kʰunamokwst is so small and the way the park flows its hard to get a clean line if there are more than a few people there, and unfortunately this park is always swamped with pre-teens and scooter kids who have no park etiquette so hit it when they are in school or in the mornings if you want to get a clean line in.
Heath Eiland and Morgan Moss BMX Skate Park also know by the locals as House Park is located in Auston Texas at 1213 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, TX 78701 . That’s right Kids I have official ventured outside of the Northwest to check out some other parks. Ok not really but we where in the area and had to check out some parks as part of our trip. The park is pretty fun and consists of a fairly big street section that I actually did not hit up but there is a nice long quarter pipe that’s about 4ft tall in the street part that’s kind of fun and a really fun big bowl section that I spent most of my time skating. After talking to some of the locals I guess the bowl was designed for the BMX’ers as there is a huge bike scene in Austin, but it skates really well. Anyways It ranges in size from about 6ft to up about 10ft at a nice half bowl with some oververt carve section and the entire bowl has a nice flow to it with the concrete and coping being in pretty good shape for its age. if you are in A...
