Tigard Skatepark

Tigard Skatepark, AKA JIM GRIFFITH Memorial Skatepark ( 13037 SW Beaverton-Tualatin Hwy, Tigard, OR 97223 ) is located in Tigard OR, about 30mins outside downtown Portland and is a monster of a park even if you disregard the T-Rex guarding the street section of this behemoth concrete jungle. Built by Dreamland Skateparks  the concrete is in real good shape but not to slidable if you eat it, so try to run out if your sporting pads. The park is 15,000 sq ft. and is massive in my opinion, seriously I’m going to probably forget to mention something about this park. The street section has a ton of flat with a lazy Susan/turntable off center in the flat area, at one point it turned but when I was there it seemed to be sealed up. To enter this area, you role-in down the 6ft to 7ft transitions that lead down to the flats, on the back wall of the street section the transitions range from 6ft to what I think is about a 12ft wall. To the right if facing the big walls, you have a 4ft steep tr...

Clatskanie Skatepark

Clatskanie Skatepark ( 346 NE 5th St, Clatskanie, OR 97016 ) in Clatskanie OR which is about an hour from Portland OR and is one of my FAVORITE parks, I seriously love this park! And It’s COVERED! So, if you are looking for a spot to hit on a rainy day here ya go. The park ramps are all wood with a top layer of Skatelite which is super-fast and smooth. The only drawback with the Skatelite is that it is pretty slick if your riding hard wheels and if you eat it the surface tends to just flay off the first layer of skin. Other than those two caveats it’s a great surface to ride on especially if you’re of the age group that I currently reside in as it’s easier to slide out, and less impact if you eat it from a height, (argh I hate being old). The parks street section that has a good number of obstacles; Hips, quarter-pipes that vary in height, rails, a nice metal round rail, a pyramid table top with a small transition at the top, and ledges and some other transitions throughout that secti...

Emwon Skatepark

Emwon Skatepark ( 10861 Main St NE, Donald, OR 97020 ) Is a little park that’s pretty fun in Donald Oregon which is about 40 minutes south of Portland metro. Donald has a population of around 998 so don’t expect this park to be too busy. This park was built by Dreamland Skateparks and is roughly 2,500 sq ft. It consists of a big pool that’s about 3ft to 4ft with a two stair in the shallow and 10ft to 12ft on the deep end with pool coping all around. It’s in relatively good shape and looks like it was recently painted (past few years) although the paint is coming off in areas but that had no impact on the riding of the pool. The street area of the park is fun, the concrete is a little rough but in good shape all around, it consists of two quarter pipes (or one long half pipe) with some steep transitions that’s about 4ft or 5ft with a round/hump/transition (I don’t know what it’s called) in the center of the half pipe. The coping is in good shape and grinds well. On the back wall of the...

Holly Farm Skatepark

Holly Farm Skatepark – ( 10819 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97219 ) In SW Portland is a 2,800 sq ft oblong concrete bowl, it was designed and built by Dreamland Skateparks . The park is in a residential area off of SW Capitol Highway and when I was there it had a ton of scooter kids and families with strollers milling about in and around the bowl. The Park itself starts with an inclined run that has brick inclines on either side that gradually increases in height as you head to a steep incline that has a half bowl to the back that leads into the main bowl itself. The Bowl ranges in height, with the lowest being around 5ft and the tallest around 9ft or 10ft with a kicker step being on the taller wall. In the center of the bowl is a 4ft curved spine that faces the inclined entrance into the bowl making a kind of curved halfpipe on the back end of the spine that faces the back wall. The park looked super fun before I tried to hit it, I was picturing myself just carving around easily in th...
